I have no regrest about Delhi 6: Sonam Kapoor

Delhi 6 has released and Sonam Kapoor has seen some good feedback coming her way in spite of a screen presence which isn't quite dominating throughout the film's narrative. Boasting of an ensemble cast, Delhi 6 had a dozen odd characters and those who were hoping to see a lot more of Sonam were left asking for more.

"Well, let's not talk about whether the length of the role is big or small.

The fact is that I have a great three dimensional role in the movie and that's what that matters", says Sonam without any hint of regret, "This is a girl who wants to do a lot in life and the scenes that I have got are amazing.

I firmly believe that sometimes you can make a big impact in just four scenes when compared to a film where you could be present for 80% of its running length."

Is that really the case? "True", Sonam comments with a straight face, "It all boils down to what the audience remembers from the film on coming back home. Bada ya chota role doesn't matter. If the script of my film is good, my role adds to the plot and it is better than doing four songs and a couple of weepy scenes, then I am all game to be a part of a film!"

Of course one can trust you on complex roles but how about this new look that you have donned for Delhi 6? As someone who is a different person at home and the outside world, she got to play contrasting character on screen.

Smiles Sonam, "Let me not just take the entire credit for the look that I carry in Delhi 6. It is in fact a combination of all these wonderful people out there who have tried a lot of things to come up with the final look that I carry.

Like, Anamika Khanna who has got the costumes made for me, my make up guy Vikram Gaikwad or my hair stylist Avan Contractor - all of them are responsible for the compliments that I am receiving today."

She doesn't forget to acknowledge the good word done by her choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant though. "Yes, of course there is Vaibhavi Merchant who has given me such great dance steps and Mr. Mehra who has presented me so well. I am happy with the final results and glad that my look has been noticed", concludes Sonam.

When Abhishek and Aishwarya first met!

It's RGV's most anticipated film of the year. Abhi-Ash's first film together post marriage and one of Amitabh's best roles ever, yes Sarkar Raj. Incidentally, Ramu wanted that the scene they first shoot after marriage should be the scene where Abhi and Ash are striking a conversation for the first time and trying to know each other.

Truly, RGV knew exactly what he wanted and got it. The scene where they were to interact with each other for the first time was to be done with tentativeness and they were to weigh each other as people. Since they were shooting for the first time after marriage, there was newness to their relationship and they were a bit conscious in front of the entire unit… this worked exactly as per the demand of the scene.

Sarkar Raj talks about an intense political drama and is essentially a study of power; it explores the politics of development and takes a fresh look at the tradition versus modernity debate.

When Anita Rajan (Aishwarya Rai - Bachchan), CEO of Sheppard power plant, an international Company, brings a power plant proposal to set up in rural Maharashtra before the Nagres, insightful Shankar (Abhishek Bachchan) is quick to realize the benefits the power plant can bring to the people. After convincing Sarkar (Amitabh Bachchan) who is against it for various reasons, Shankar undertakes a journey along with Anita to the villages of Maharashtra to mobilize support from the masses.

However, things are not what they seem to be and Shankar's dream project gradually becomes a political minefield. It is in this backdrop the evil forces mightier than ever, mushroom and gang up to bring down the regime of Sarkar and obliterate Shankar's name from the political horizon.

Sarkar Raj is definitely not a sequel to Sarkar but a new story with the same characters. Well, let's hope RGV won't have to go into hiding after this film.

Abhishek jams, records a track with Wyclef Jeans

Musical history was made in Miami last week when Abhishek got together with rapper Wyclef Jean for a track called 'Hollywood Meets Bollywood' to pay a tribute to Hindi cinema and his legendary father Amitabh Bachchan.

Abhishek sang naughty patriotic words like "Main yahan ka desi don" and "Khai ke banarsi paan", drawing a direct and delectable reference to the senior Bachchan's in the 1978 hit Don.

On March 29, not only did Wyclef Jean specially ask for Abhishek to do a track, he also flew down from his home in New York to Miami to record with Abhishek and composer Aadesh Shrivastava for a new album that will release in India in May.

Recounting the historical collaboration the still-dazed Aadesh says, "It was unbelievable. Wyclef and I were discussing a track where we needed hiphop-rap in Hindi by an Indian star , when Wyclef suggested, 'How about Abheee-shake?' Naturally I jumped at the suggestion. I've recorded many songs with Amitji. And I've been waiting for the right opportunity to record with Junior who I know has a terrific singing voice."

Plans were immediately concretized. Since Abhishek was working within a very tight schedule for Karan Johar's Dostana in Miami, there was no choice but for Aadesh and Wyclef to take the melody mountain to Mohamed, so to speak…er, sing.

"They became musical soul-mates within minutes. Since I was the one who knew both of them, I thought I'd have to play intermediary. There was instant chemistry between Wyclef and Abhishek in Miami."

Abhishek's lyrics for this sure-fire chartbuster? "Wyclef, Aadesh come on rock this party shake shake /Main yahan ka desi don sang mere ga re//India hamari shaan/Khai ke banarsi paan/Sang mere tu ga re."

The song was recorded the entire day at the Setai recording studio located in one of the poshest hotels of Miami. "Abhishek, Wyclef and I had a ball recording the song till 2.30 in the morning. And then would you believe it, Abhishek headed straight for the shooting of Dostana which started at 4 am," exclaims Aadesh.

Wyclef was so taken up with his self-selected crooning collaborator that at the end of the day-long jamming session he had only one thing to say. Yehi hai right choice, AB Baby
